The Coreman is now a member of the world-wide network of open-source software proponents involved in the SourceForge community! Coreman has also been keeping busy reading some of the open-source musings contained in the well known book by Eric Raymond, The Cathedral and the Bazaar. Join the revolution!
June 17, 2001: Coreman greets new Chief Justice of British Columbia!
The Coreman met the new Chief Justice of the Province over the weekend! Coreman was tagging along with a group of keen law clerks invited to spend the afternoon with the Chief in West Vancouver. The Coreman was also delighted to spend some time with the former Chief, Mr. Allan McEachern, who recently retired from the Province's top judicial spot.
The Coreman would like to welcome Chief Justice Finch to his new post and thank the former Chief for bringing info from the legal community to the masses via the Chief's web site. This site is certainly a unique vehicle for providing access to judicial information!
June 16, 2001: Coreman responds to demand for more graphics!
The recent introduction of the "active dude" logo has resulted in a flood of incoming requests for more of the dude! Many visitors to the site have asked for a bigger "dude" when they click on the logo itself. Coreman has relied on the recently announced alliance with TeAoTawariRangi Design to deliver on these requests.
June 14, 2001: Coreman files consumer awareness tip!
The Coreman has just received news from Telus that they will effectively no longer offer the popular TELUS No Limits Canada Long Distance ("20 dollar") plan! This will have a direct impact on how Coreman and many of his associates consume long distance in the province! The advisory from Telus reads in boldface;
Effective July 1, 2001 an 800-minute monthly limit will be implemented for TELUS No Limits Canada subscribers.
The Telus V.P. of Marketing for "Consumer Solutions" softened the devastating blow to long distance abusers by advising that any calls made OVER 800 minutes will be charged at the LOW rate of 10 cents per minute! The Coreman is gravely disappointed to see that the "No Limits" plan now comes with a limit! Boo!

The Coreman is pleased to announce that Grant and Darlene Scholefield are now united as husband and wife! Coreman was there as the proud brother, best man, and Master of Ceremonies for the event!

The Coreman has repaired the CoreMobile, and is pleased to announce that the vehicle has once again returned to full motoring glory!
Apr 28, 2001: Coreman feels the noise!
Coreman joined an elite group of hard-rock enthusiasts at the Ingy Pub in Victoria for a performance of legendary 80's rock band Quiet Riot! What a classic show! The band was geared up for over a full hour of non-stop metal mayhem - just like the way it used to be! Coreman and the crew couldn't get too close to the band itself as dozens of metal junkies were crowding the stage and banging their heads! What an amazing scene!
After the show, Coreman and company retired to nearby Denny's for an early AM breakfast slam and to recap the blistering rock assault.....
Apr 26, 2001: Coreman attends Rock N' Bowl!
Coreman slipped on the flourescent green and yellow bowling shoes last night for a couple of games at Victoria's bowling mecca, The MayFair Lanes! Coreman had never been to the event before but discovered that MayFair Lanes knows how to Rock! The pop tunes were fun, and the rest of the crew from the VoiceMob had a great time taking down a few pins and pints....! Let's do it again, folks...!

Coreman has just learned that David Dahl of Idar in Victoria has won a major design competition! The design behind Justine's ring was entered into a major competition in which David took first prize!

Coreman's new chat room has just been launched! Chat code from RalfChat has been used to provide this exciting new site feature! Coreman loves to chat, and would like to invite site visitors to register with a nickname to gain access to the chat room!
Apr 20, 2001: Coreman moving home-base to Vancouver!
Coreman is making a move off the rock! After almost a lifetime of living exclusively on Vancouver Island, Coreman is shuffling over to Vancouver for a while. He and Justine are both a bit bummed about moving away from the place they call home, but Vancouver is not that far away! Coreman and Justine are delighted to be keeping their loft in the James Bay house as a place to stay when they come over to visit with the crew....

Coreman's winning attempt to "roll up the rim" at Tim Horton's this week were foiled because Coreman only bought a SMALL coffee. Be advised that Tim's rim contest is only available at some stores on the medium, large, and extra large cups!
Mar 15, 2001: Coreman receives coffee honour!
A great honour has been bestowed upon the Coreman! As of today, The Coreman has been named as the Assistant Director of the Coffee Experts Group. In this position, the Coreman intends to further the Group's mission of advising, educating, and promoting on matters related to the consumption and enjoyment of coffee. Coreman encourages his visitors to check out the group's world-famous site!
Mar 3, 2001: Coreman hanging out in Coal Harbour.
A change of scenery of late folks - Coreman is migrating over to Vancouver and is soon to call Coal Harbour the home-base. Justine is busy down at the Courts, and Coreman is taking in all the action. Coreman has been observing activity all over the legal territory in Vancouver. Recent trips to have been made to the Court of Appeal, Traffic Court, and yesterday Coreman bravely ventured into Vancouver's downtown east-side to visit the Provincial Courthouse at 222 Main St. That Remand Court is quite cRaZy!
Dec 31, 2000: Coreman rings in the New Year!
Coreman spent the New Year with his bride-to-be, Justine, and her family (with the English relatives!) in Victoria! Everyone went down to Santiago's for a hearty meal, and copious libations before ringing in the New Year back at the Ladysmith Street shack!

Dec 29, 2000: Coreman to wed Justine!
News update of the Year! Coreman has just returned from a holiday near Tofino, where he took Justine away for a romantic stay at Middle Beach Lodge. Coreman took Justine out to a very special spot near Half Moon Bay for a perfect proposal - and presented a handmade ring, courtesy of the master craftspersons at Idar Jewellers in Victoria.
