getting bigger every day

the boyo
It felt to me like Wolfe must have gained 2 pounds overnight. Something about getting him out of bed this morning, and down the stairs was more strenuous than usual. Perhaps he is going through a growth-spurt ? Or perhaps because it was 440 in the morning, I was not quite ready to deal with the day? In any case, he is a very healthy boy, and full of laughs and giggles. Has a terrible habit of pulling hair, and trying to climb up the stove. He is not yet walking, but that should happen any day now. I will likely get the call at work, when he has finally decided to take his first steps.....

pre-dinner snack plate

We're chowing on some nice salami, goat cheese, and brie. Tasty appies. Turns out that Wolfe is digging it too. He's got those new chompers coming in, so why not, eh...?

parental leave timing

Ok, this is week 6 of 13. Wolfe is one of those boys that is very determined to tear this place apart. He's crawling, standing, grabbing, pulling, stretching, shredding, pushing, pulling, and generally punishing anything he can get his hands on. Under very close supervision last week, he climbed the 14 steps up to the 2nd floor of the shack. Hmm. It's not like he is content to sit around and thumb through his favourite board-books. No, he'd rather dump the book basket and chew on them all!

Note to self: Nothing is safe. Batten down everything.

change to daylight savings time

I think the time change came in at 0200 last night or something. I was up with Wolfe for over an hour somewhere in there. Just one of those nights, you know. Up in the wee wee hours. After I finally got him back to sleep, the time changed, and that whole hour was erased. It's like that hour never happened. But it sure feels like it did.

these are the days of the exer-saucer

exer-boy
Way back in the first week of parental leave, I was looking around on usedvictoria.com for an exer-saucer. Wolfe is quite the active little tot, and I thought he would dig hanging out in one for brief spells. So, we found several listed, and picked up this one, and as expected, he does have fun in it!

He's crawling fast, and hauling himself up our stairs now, and really wants to walk bad.....perhaps he will take his first steps before I return to work? I recall hearing about Charlotte's first steps after I returned to work from parental-leave #1....

need some sleep

snoozer
Here is an action-shot of Wolfe having a day-time snooze. He's growing quite a bit, putting on over 3 lbs. in the past month. All that growing requires a bit more sleeping, and sometimes he has fairly sleepy-days.....

here I am

Wolfe
Just sat down to unload the photos from the digital camera, and I see we have several weeks of shots on there. We did the Tall Ships, the beach, a pool-party at home, a pool-party up the road, and we have lots of pics of Wolfe just hanging out. Like this one! We've got a small crib for him set up in the living room, where he can snooze and we're all still close by. He's had a couple of sleepy days, and 1 really-wide-awake-all-day day this week.

We're back into the busy routine of having a newborn around, which has many blessings - like many mornings, he and I are up in the wee-wee hours, to enjoy the start of the day. We caught the sunrise a couple mornings ago, and it was nice to see those first few sunbeams piercing through the trees around 520 AM. And last week, he and I were sitting in Charlotte's room, peacefully enjoying the first few glimpses of daylight just prior to 4 AM. Yes, we like those peaceful morning times together.....

first few baby pics

Mom and Babe were home on Thursday afternoon, as both received a clean bill of health from the crew up at VGH. Although the care up there was great (thanks to all on the 3rd floor!), Justine really wanted to come home as soon as possible. So, with infant-seat re-installed in truck, we got Wolfe home safely.

I have pictures from the digital camera, and a few from the cam on my new phone, and am just now getting some of them onto the home network.

Hey, it looks like I need a new category for Wolfe on the blog here - after all, if Charlotte has *her* own category....!

So far he has been quite a good boy here....his internal systems seem to be working quite nicely. He nurses, he poops, he sleeps, he wakes, and sometimes he even cries! Not often though, he has been fairly quiet, and peaceful.....whew! Charlotte now has to wait her turn when it comes to nursing....and that, she is having to get used to....
