fitness champ and fitness chump
Good morning all, and what an amazing and brilliant sunny Sunday this is!
Usually around this time of year I bring you the news of our participation in the annual TC 10 Km fun-run. It's always a fun event, and this year's update includes that of the champ and the chump.
This year, Justine is the champ! She got out there to walk the course with her friend Judy, and they had fun. Our bean must be wondering what all this activity is about what with going to the Cher/Village People concert last night, and the 10 KM walk this morning. Justine just phoned to say that they completed the course, and were not at the very back of the pack! Yay!
This year, I am the chump, for not even participating in the event. Yeah, I am quite bummed now after seeing what a great day it is today. I just couldn't muster the self-discipline to get out there for the usual training runs, and the other pre-run preparations. *sigh* For some reason, I got locked in to thinking that I had to train like heck to get "back in shape" for the 10 Km. Could not find the time to strap on the shoes and get out there lately what with all that has been happening at work and around the shack. Grrrr......I should have just gone in for the walk, and the cookie, fruit, and yogurt pig-out at the end of the race.
As it turned out, last night turned out to be a late one. I polished the floors, and then Jason came over to help me move the appliances back in. After that, I went out to pick up Justine, then came home to reload the fridge and do a bit of clean-up. Went to bed at 1 AM, up at 6 AM to get the girls down to the race, then came home and went back to bed. See, not only a chump, but a lump.
Justine and I are already planning to go in next year with the baby-jogger and run-walk the course....which should be fun....

Thanks Rod!
I'll let you design the training plan for Zardoz - marathon in 24 months, Ironman in 36?

Way to go Justine.
Glad to hear Zardoz (your bean) got her/his 1st 10k done at an early age. Maybe a marathon before age 2?!?
